High Power SMPS for Battery Charging
Hello,
I am going to design a SMPS for battery charging with below given specification. Please suggest suitable PI part and design guide for the same.
AC Input Voltage Range 170-300VAC
Ac Input Voltage Nominal- 230VAC
AC Input Frequency 47-53Hz
DC Output Voltage - 65V +/- 0.5V
DC Output Line and Load Regulation - +/- 2%
Protections- Over load , Output Short Circuit, Over Temperature, Battery reverse, Boost Charging Safety timer,
Thanks and Regards,
Swaminath

Hi Swaminath,
May we please inquire what is the output current or output power requirement? Thank you very much.
Leo
The required output current is 6A
At what DC o/p voltage?

10VDC and 3 amp is 30 watts out, not 20. There appear to be many design solutions listed on the PI website ...
Hi Ravi,
Just to clarify, you are designing a 20W and not a 30W SMPS right? For a 20W design you may try TOPSWITCH family of IC. For 85VAC-265VAC input voltage, you can can consider TOP258PN. Below is the link for the datasheet:

For a reference design you may check the following link:

Now , in order to cater for your particular specs and design you may want to try our design tool in the following link:

Just kindly sign up for if you are a new user. Hope this helps.
By the way what application are you targeting for this design? Thank you very much.
