Need help in HiperTFS7708H device temperature coefficient R-theta (J-C)

Posted by: abhishekmoghe.1 on

Hi all,
I am designing a power supply using HiperTFS 7708H Product. Peak Power is 520 W for 1 sec and average Power is 360 W. the operation of the power supply is intermittent with duty cycle of 40%.
I want to design heat sink for HiperTFS, i searched the datasheet but i could not find data related ti temperature coefficient of HiperTFS.
It is mentioned that the temperature of HiperTFS should not increase beyond 95 deg cel.
I intent to limit it to 85 deg cel in worst condition but for that R-theta(J-c) is essential value which is missing from datasheet. It would be great if you can provide the same.
awaiting your reply.

thanks

The R-theta (J-C) of TFS 2 is 5 deg C / Watt , please go to Page no 27 in data sheet , in that Page , R-theta (J-C) was mentioned for different Sizes of Our TFS-2 Parts

thank you , i found that ,
Does PI have any document that can guide for calculating switching loss in HiperTFS series.
in my case i followed standard procedure to calculate switching and ON time loss in MOSFETs of HiperTFS7708H.

Hi abhishekmoghe.1,

I would suggest trying our PI Expert design tool:

https://piexpertonline.power.com/pixls/design/index

The PI Xls calculator/spreadsheet estimates losses for a Hiper TFS design based on your input parameters.
