Drain Peak current

Posted by: rambabupotluri on

Dear Sir,

as per datashhet of TOP243P the Drain Peak Current is 1.44A,self protection current limit is 0.75 A,internal di/dt is 150mA/uS,pl expain what is the design cosideration to take  for internal di/dt  .

Thanks

Hi,

The internal di/dt with 150mA/us is the condition of the current limitation of 0.75A. It means under a di/dt = 150mA/us, the Ilim will equal to 0.75A (typical value).

If the condition changes, for example di/dt is higher, the Ilim maybe higher than 0.75A. In real design, if it is a flyback design, the di/dt of the primary side will be determined by the input voltgae, as Ldi/dt = V.

Hope this is helpful
