detect main voltage from MCU with non isolated power supply

I would like to use the power supply from App Note RDR-506 to power a microcontroller in my circuit.
is it possible to have a switch connected to one of the main lines L or N and an input in the MCU?

To better support your designs, could you give a little bit more information about the switch you mentioned above. Is it a MOSFET switch or a mechanical switch. if you can draw a schematic about the connection, it would be more helpful.
