high voltage capacitor charger circuit

Posted by: Tek1 on

Hi,

I'm looking for advice in using PI devices to charge up an external capacitor (75uF to a high voltage 700V ) from standard 220V mains input. There will be no DC load on the capacitor when it is being charged up and it has approx. 1 second to charge up to the max voltage (700v), before the converter is switched off and this capacitor is discharged into a load. I'm assuming that I will drive the output as a current source like a LED current driver.
Any advice is most welcome. Thank you.

kind Regards,
