This is a very basic question, just wanted to know, can we have a ground plane for input section of the power integration part based power supply. Input section meaning, ac-dc conversion, swithing section untill the transformer primary and the bias??? can all have ground plane with its net connected to the HVDC- ??

In case if we cannolt have, can we know is there any specific reason for why we cannot have.

Herewith sending pics of component side layout and solder side layout.

Hi vmholla,

As long as safety clearances are observed, having a ground plane for the input section should be fine. The reason why planes are not used sometimes is simply to save on cost in extra PCB layers, for example.
