voltage limit on the input side

Dear Sir,

I want to know ,if my LED driver is rated for 90 to 265V AC input, what happens if i give more than 265VAC input ie., for 300, 320?

Thank you

There is a line overvoltage protection feature in the LinkSwitch-PH, and the switch will be turned off when the sensed input voltage is higher than the specified input voltage limit.

But the EMI and input capacitors could be damaged with the higher than rated voltage.

Every resistor has a maximum power rating which is determined by its physical size as generally, the greater its surface area the more power it can dissipate safely into the ambient air or into a heatsink.
